Matching Grants
June 14th, 2007 by admin
Opera Volunteers International’s Matching Grants Program encourages the expansion and development of programs that recruit, develop and train volunteers for service in their communities and for the participation in all phases of opera company support.
Any group or organization can apply to OVI for a grant of up to $1,000 to assist in funding a program to train individuals to become successful and motivated opera volunteers.
The application, to be prepared on a prescribed form, must:
- Describe the program
- Outline the goals of the program
- Explain how, where and by whom the training is to be done
- Contain a detailed budget of the program
Opera Volunteers International’s grant award is a matching grant: all monetary awards must be matched at least 1-for-1 by the applicant. Upon approval by the OVI Board of Directors, the award is issued to the applicant. The recipient must follow up with a written report on the results of the project, and a financial report which identifies the matching funds which were raised from other sources.
