Honoring Volunteers
January 16th, 2008 by Fern
It’s that time again. Time for OVI Support Groups to think about the value of their outstanding volunteers and how to recognize and acknowledge them. Is there someone in your organization who has contributed outstanding service to your opera company and/or your support group? Why not nominate him or her for one of our awards? Is your group celebrating a milestone event or a special accomplishment? Why not nominate it for an honor? Opera Volunteers International’s Partners in Excellence Award pays tribute to these exceptional people and occasions.
Is your group fortunate enough to have a volunteer who has contributed 100 or more valuable hours within a 12-month period? Why not recommend him or her for the President’s Volunteer Service Award? Both OVI and the U.S. President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation would be proud to have them qualify.
Nominations are due by April 1, 2008. Just contact us; we would be pleased to have them.

The Guild of Tulsa Opera does have a name to submit for the Partners in Excellence Award. Last year I began the process of getting letters, etc., but did not know the time limit. This year, I shall begin to get these letters together to submit. To whom do I submit everything to?
When and where is the next convention?
Thank you for your time and consideration of this.
